According to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, his country is past the peak of the corona crisis. He said Thursday at his first press conference since his infection with the virus.
He immediately announced next week that he would come up with a comprehensive plan to get the economy going again after the lockdown.
“I can confirm for the first time today that we have had the peak of the disease,” said Johnson.
“We are past the peak and in a downward trend, and we have many reasons to be hopeful for the longer term.”
Johnson also announced that the death toll has now risen to 26,711. That is 714 more than Wednesday.
